75 years ago on December 8th, war came. What no one expected was the transformation of America from a nation which craved peace to one which thrived on militarism. On this show, military historian Christopher Kelly, author of “America Invades: How We’ve Been Militarily Involved with Almost Every Country on Earth,” talks about the dramatic change that resulted from that “day which lives in infamy,” how today’s politicians use outside threats to distract from other issues, and the effects our often racist militarism has had on real national security.
