From a thorough examination of the science of what makes historical change, futurist Sarah Robinson discusses specifically what factors have served conservatives well. Part of it is simple, easy answers to complex, difficult problems, and an ability to see beyond any momentary setbacks. The most fascinating point is that progressives too often reflexively shrink from who we are, which yields unfavorable outcomes. It’s really all about the culture war: we have good values for which we should stand up courageously. That, Robinson insists, will serve our political goals much more effectively.
