Banishing the Confederate flag from public buildings might make some of us all feel as if we’ve done something to stop racist violence. But given how easy it is for right wing politicians to do it, will the gesture really accomplish anything? Or will it simply allow racist rogue police, policies oppressing minorities, rule by and for the 1% to continue unabated, as we merely appear to be doing something. Campaign for America’s Future’s Isaiah Poole and Burt Cohen discuss what must be done to stop racist violence which is not an aberration, it is endemic throughout America (not the Confederacy).
