Throughout American history there have been times, rare moments in which the political establishment’s movers and shakers quiver as their best laid plans have gone awry. Their too-often successful efforts to keep citizens believing that we are powerless are on occasion upended. Now is one of those historic moments and it’s a very good thing, according to guest Robert Borosage, founder and president of the Institute for America’s Future and contributing editor of The Nation, whose article appear in many national journals. What’s different this year is that people who normally vote against their own interests are getting that the deck is indeed stacked. What is populism? Can’t it be dangerous?
