Our guest today, Ryan Cooper senior editor of The American Prospect argues that it makes no actual economic sense but that Trump is dragging his obsessive anti-green agenda into killing EV jobs at the big three automakers. In what Cooper calls “The whims of a mad dictator,” he is taking away subsidies for the production of EVs that Biden put in place in the Inflation Reduction Act, instead putting that money into tax cuts for the richest and keeping the oil industry happy.  Meanwhile our biggest Detroit-made auto-buying country Canada will gladly take it’s business elsewhere. Trump is giving a gift to China in his “America First” agenda.
